Karen's Frozen Strawberry Dessert
Crust:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter (softened)
Mix together & press into a 13x9 pan, bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
Crumble with a fork while it's hot. Spread about 2/3 of the crumble mixture into
the bottom of the pan, set aside the other 1/3 for the top.
Filling:
Two 10 oz. pkgs frozen sliced strawberries in syrup (thawed)
2 egg whites
2/3 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons lemon juice (I use 3, though!)
8 oz Cool Whip
Whip egg whites until fluffy. Add strawberries, sugar & lemon juice. Beat on
High for several minutes. Stir in the Cool Whip and pour over the crumble
mixture in pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/3 crumble mixture over the top. Cover top
tightly and freeze.
